Today I had a dress rehearsal for dance and I just got back. I am so tired but I still have math and science homework. I really need to go to bed. At dance we had t sit for hours!!! I think. Everyone needs to practice a lot. Once again so tired😴

Dear Diary,

Right now Ruth is on the floor flopping on the ground and I don't know what to do! I feel so bad her because I can't help her. Madam thinks she's possessed by the devil but it is really just an illness that comes every once in a while. I really just want to scoop her up and carry her home but I just have to watch her hit her head on the floor and bleed. I couldn't take it any longer so I got on my knees and hugged her as tight as I could. I ran upstairs and grabbed some cobwebs for her cut on her head. When madams husband walked in he screamed at us and I think it woke up Ruth. When she sat up I cradled  her in my arms while she sobbed. Madam said that they needed to sell Ruth but I tried to convince her not to and her husband said that we were still sisters. Ruth got right back to work. Madam warned me that she would not stay for long so that gave me a sharp pain in my stomach that stayed with me for days. I am trying to get enough information so Ruth and I can find the lawyers that say we are free so we can leave this place now.

Chains Journal Entry 1 5/28/14

Describe the historical time period, according to the chapter.  What clues from this chapter support this time period.  How do the charecters talk, dress, act and/or think?  How does the setting

of the novel lend to your understanding of this time period.

In this chapter, the time period it seems like it is in the 1700s. The characters seem like they dress really fancy and the slaves dress bad. In chapter 4, the slave master Madam seems really stuck up and selfish.  Madam also acts like a Loyalist, because she talks about how she was happy the British troops were coming. I think that Isabel is a slave because she is treated less than and she was sold to work for the locktons. Isabel's thoughts make me think that she is coming up with a plan to run away with her sister Ruth. The setting tells me a little about the time period, because they always stay in there house or around the town because to leave New York they have to get on a boat. Isabel's old slave owner died and she was much nicer than Madam. Most of the characters talk slang like the slaves. Because they talk about slaves slave owners, patriots, loyalist, and British soldiers, the time period makes me think it is in the late 1700s.

If you had to move away from all your friends, change  schools and live a whole new life? In the book  New girl in Town by Julia DeVillers, Liberty has to find out who are her true friends and who she can trust.  

Liberty's dad just became the president of the United States and she has to go to a new school with new kids. Liberty is a little scared going to a school with normal kids when she is the first daughter. At first, when Liberty got to her new class, she was nervous because the kids wanted to sit next to her like she was a movie star but she just wanted to be treated like a regular kid. Liberty just got used to kids staring at her.

For my birthday I want to have a Paris themed party. I will invite four friends. After the party my mom will drive my friends and I to Cedar Point and I hope there will be a surprise waiting for me like an iphone. I know this probably won't happen but I would LOVE to go to Paris! I would like it to be a surprise trip. I would like my whole birthday to be a surprise. For my presents I would want stuff that is crafty but also has something to do with Paris. This would be a perfect party!

In the beginning of my Memorial Day I was a little bummed because my family was busy except for my mom. I also had a really big Spanish  project that was stressful and confusing. I thought I was going to spend my holiday doing all my work and suffering but my mom called my other friend and she was available. We missed the Beverly Hills parade but we went to the carnival. On one ride I got to sick because my neck was moving around and I was spinning to much. After that we ate and we played on the playground. We ended up going out to eat then playing with my friends dog. I had a lot of fun and I still got my project done!

 Dear Mr. Snyder, My mom and I drive down Southfield road everyday for at least 4 times a day. Everything was fine with the roads until the beginning of this winter and is causing a big problem.

My mom was getting of work to come pick me up from school until someone hit a big pot hole and was so close to hitting my mom. But because there was no one around to see it nothing happened and my mom had to keep driving thorough these awful bumps.

 A week ago on a quiet Wednesday morning, the road was smooth for about two minutes. I knew it would not last long because we went so far down then came up I bumped my head really badly! This made me feel like I can't even drive down my own street without getting a tire busted. I want other people to be able to drive safely. But so far it is not happening.

My solution is that the government should fix the roads and find a way to get enough money.
In conclusion, the state of Michigan is in need of these changes. With it we can have a better and more efficient community.

 Today I had my orchestra concert and my mom and dad said i looked very confedent. i hardly messed up and i think we did really well. At first I was really nervous but then I started t orelax a lot. After the concert there was an afterglow where we have a lot of sugar. Before we ate we all got certificates and then I got in line. There were so many brownies I didnt know which one to pick. I talked with my friends then we watched these boys play basketball with there shirts off and we laughed at them. i walked to the car with my friend Sully and then I left. I loved my first concert!!

I am so exited for Memorial Day on Monday! I hope I am going to the Beverly Hills parade. At the parade I will probably bring one of my friends and my cousin. The parade is on a Monday, so before the parade I will got to my aunts house. Her house is really big! Every time I go to her house, I always go to the pink guest room where I sleep and my older cousin Christian goes in the blue guest room. I like the pink room because it has a lot of clothes already in the closet and it is a trundle bed which means that there is a pull out bed under the bed. My aunts bed room is cool to because she has this really comfy bed and her bathroom has two sinks and a really big jacuzzi and a shower for 3 people. In the kitchen there is a door that leads to her screened in porch. Her backyard is an acre and in the middle is where we roast marshmallows. I can't wait until my uncle teaches me how to light the fireworks!!🌠🎇🎆🎊🇺🇸   I can't wait until Memorial Day!!

have you ever been with your friends and they were doing something that you didn't think was right but they were telling you you should do it? Well that happened to me today. After school I was playing in my neighborhood with most of the kids and my friend Destiney found a lighter that you would light candles with. It was on an on the ground so she picked it up and turned it off. This was before most of the kids on my block came out. She grabbed  pile of twigs and rocks. In my gut I new she shouldn't be doing this so I told her that if something got caught on fire I wasn't in it. She grabbed a hose and turned it of because we thought if the twigs were wet but it wasn't my idea. So Destiney   turned on the hose and she almost got me my friend Anaya and her younger brother Aron wet. When she turned off the hose my adorable friend Hope but I call her Hopey came and  asked us what she was doing. I am glad her brother made her come in before we had to answer. I really got steamed up when they were putting a flame on a bush right next to a house. She said she had to rest her hand because every time she tried to get a flame it would just spark and burn them. I tried to change the subject and so did this boy named Miles and it FINALLY worked. We played hide and go seek tag but after a while I had to walk home. While I was getting my backpack and lunch box I saw this really tall kid and he did not look trust worthy. I could tell my friends didn't know him and they looked really nervous. They should have walked away from the gut or told and adult so I just shook my head and walked home in the bright and almost cached on fire day.

My life plan

This is my life plan. When I get out of Covington in 8th grade, I will be at the top of my class and the smartest. I will go to Seaholme for high school and do Volleyball, dance and ice skating. When I graduate from high school I will have a boyfriend but that is not that important. I will also have all A's and be a REALLY smart student that has a good spirit and is kind. I am going to Michigan State University because my mom went there and even though most people think that Michigan has a better medical field they are so wrong and I don't care if they like Michigan because I don't care what they say! I will go to school to be a pediatrician and a fashion designer. While I am in school I will have a job that makes good money and helps me with my career. When I get out of college people will know how good I am and will move me up in my career. I will find an apartment in New York and start on my career.

Cutest baby in the world!!

On mothers day I wet to a brunch. I saw my little cousin Jamiah and she has red hair. She is the cutest baby ever!😍😍👶. When u got inside my aunt was there with Jamiah. I really wanted to sit next to her and I did. I realized it was a buffet and I went to the dessert table. I was so happy when I found out that the theme for the dessert table was Paris!! There was a big Eiffel Towers smack down in the middle. When I finally decided what I wanted to eat I sat back down at the table. We had so many people with us that we're my family. I watched my aunt feed The baby and she just too I it out of her mouth and put it in my hand. Her brother was really wild and his name is Nick. I too I Jamiah for a walk and nick after we finished eating.Nick was 8 and Jamiah is 1 in a half. I picked up Jamiah and we went over to the fountain. I handed her rocks and she tried to throw them  into a whole. After that we looked around then went back. I took her to the bathroom so she could wash her hands. I could tell she was really tired. After that she have me a hug and we said goodbye. I had a good time with Jamiah!

There once was a girl named Jade. She lived in a big house in San Francisco with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge. She always dreamed of going to Paris. In her free time she loved to pick all sorts of flowers, dance and Ice skate. She had a little sister that was 2 and her name was Gabbie. Her parents were divorced and lived with her mom. She so had and older sister but she never saw her. She really loved flowers and everything to do with Paris. She wished people could see how smart she really was. She was in the 6th grade and went to a good school. She went to tutoring two days a week and her dad took her. Her mom was always tired when she got off of work and fell asleep really quick. Jades little sister loved to ride her purple bike and sing bubble guppies. Every time the show would come on she would stand in front of the tv, look around then sing. Jade would join in with her. In dance there was once girl in Jades class that always got to be first or infront. She was nice but she always new how to talk to people. One day Jade was riding her bike from the store with gabbie in the back when she saw a house. She picked up gabbie as she snored on her shoulder. Creeeeeeek the door seemed like it was saying. When jade put one for on the floor a piece fell down a deep deep dark hole. She safely got to the other side. There was a grand stair case  right infront of her and it had a note on the 4th step. Carefully Jade walked up the steps but when she got to the 3rd step someone tapped her shoulder like they were in a hurry. She turned around quick almost falling over the steps. She relixpzed that it was only her sister asking where they were. Gabbie jumped down and picked up the note. When she did an old woman appeared behind them. She was holding a flower and had on an Eiffel tower dress. She picked up Gabbie which made Jades heart beat faster than a cheetah. Jade closed her eyes as she slowly hit the ground.

I am so exited for my Orchestra concert! Mainly because it's my first comcert but even though it's at my school it's still special. I think my class learns pretty quick because we learned how to use the bow earlier than the 6th,7th and 8th graders. We made programs for our parents when they come to the concert with my our pictures on it and on the back it's a thank you note to the parents. After the concert there will be an after glow which is when we eat a whole bunch of treats lined up on one large and long table. I have six people I am inviting to the concert. I can't wait to perform!🎻

 Short Story

My favorite thing to do is DANCE!! Dancing keeps you active and is a good way to let your feelings out. When I dance I feel good because I can do what ever I want. I have been dancing sense I was 2. I stopped for a while and then I started back up again . I do jazz and ballet. Dance is one of my favorite things to do.👯👯

Today is a busy day. First thing in the morning I had to get on my ballet costume,did my hair and my makeup. I had to take my dance pictures. When I got to my studio I had to put on my wings and got in line. When I took the picture I had to stand really still. But not for long. After I was done with that I went into the dressing room. I changed into my jazz costume and waited like an hour until my next picture, I was supposed to be a waitress in NYC. Finally I took the pictures but it took forever!!! When we were done we went over our routine and then I went home. I had a good day.

Sorry I don't post yesterday. Anyway, I got my hair done yesterday and it is strait. Before it was in a huge puff ball. First my mom washed my hair and put it in a couple braids. She. It was time to get it done she took out the braids and started blow drying it. It went a to faster be aide she had this brush that looks like a flat iron and it is hot but it goes through my hair really easily. When it was time to straiten it  I took a picture. Right after she curled it and I took lots of pictures. Sadly she had to put it in a bun because I have dance pictures.
